Welcome to Our Department

The year of establishment of the department is 2003. This department is trying its level best to give its 100% to the students as well as this College. General courses are taught. The College is under The University of Burdwan. Mr. Debjit Konai is the Head of The Department. Dr. Chowdhury Sadeka Nazrin is the Co- Ordinator of the department.

Vision of the Department 

1. To strengthen and support various branches of Science, Engineering and Technology.
2. To permeate and promote research with the contemporary modern innovative ideas in the field of statistical and allied science.
3. To emerge as an independent identity in the field of application of Statistics for the development of all inter disciplinary areas.
4. To strive for global recognition as the pioneer of Applied Statistics for academic excellence with professionalism through the path of teaching, research and applications.

Mission of the Department

1. To align the students with case based and project-based learning as part of the modern teaching learning process.
2. To strengthen and harmonise the skills for applying statistical tools to enhance technical learning through the branches of Applied Sciences.
3. To increase interest in innovativeness by using Statistical methods that focus on practical applications and are backed by engaging corporate talks.
4. To give quality education to future leaders for contribution to the professional workforce in the field of statistical analysis and data science.

Welcome to the Department of Statistics, Memari College. I am honored to be serving as Department Head and every day I am impressed by the devotion shown by faculty and students in this department to the field of Statistics and to the success of students at Memari College. The Department of Statistics offers bachelor’s degree in general course of Statistics. Department faculty are actively engaged in research that pushes the boundaries of knowledge in statistics. I believe strongly in the power of collaboration and interdisciplinary engagement. In the field of statistics, our work intersects with numerous disciplines, from biology and economics to computer science and public health.
